About
Purpose, methodology and editorial standards
DieselMandate.com is an investigative public-record project reported and edited by Rob Carpenter.
Purpose
This site documents the history, human consequences, operational costs, safety implications, enforcement history, environmental arguments and national-security implications of federal diesel-emissions mandates. It is an investigative journalism and public-policy site — not a tuner marketplace, parts store, political campaign or vehicle-modification guide.
Methodology
Every factual claim is sourced. Reporting, documented facts, analysis and opinion are visually separated. Allegations are identified as allegations. The word "alleged" is used where legally necessary.
Source policy
Primary sources — statutes, regulations, court filings, consent decrees, agency documents and public datasets — are preferred over secondary reporting. Interviews are attributed unless a source faces credible retaliation risk.
Corrections
Errors are corrected in place with a dated note. Substantive corrections are also listed on this page. Send corrections to the editor.
